
Five under-21 players have been named for this weekend’s inaugural T20 Regional Bash showdown between representative franchises the Newcastle Blasters and Lake Mac Attack.
Merewether’s Zac McGuigan and Charlestown’s Josh Claridge were picked for defending champions the Blasters while Charlestown’s Daniel Chillingworth, Toronto’s Griffin Lea and Cardiff’s Aaron Bills all got the nod for the newly-formed Attack.
Wallsend’s Nathan Price and Toronto’s Adrian Chad, joint recipients of the Newcastle player of the year in 2017-2018, will captain the Blasters and Attack respectively.

The opening-round fixture in the annual NSW Country tournament is scheduled for Waratah Oval on Sunday (2pm).
Elsewhere on Sunday and the Hunter Hitmen meet the Central Coast Rush at Ourimbah’s Bill Sohier Park.
Rounds two and three feature double headers next Sunday (October 14) at Waratah and Harker ovals.
