CHARLESTOWN’S first grade hat-tricks may have occurred 45 years apart, but they produce a mirror image of sorts.
Edwards nabbed the last three wickets of Stockton’s innings on September 29 while it was discovered this week, after Magpies officials delved into the record books, that Littlewood took the first three wickets of the innings against Southern Lakes.
Littlewood ended up with figures of 4-0 from that opening over, removing another batsman with his final ball.
Surprisingly, despite being in early trouble Southern Lakes recovered to beat Charlestown on that occasion. In the more recent fixture the Magpies managed to account for Stockton.

This follows an unbeaten 67 to help Randwick-Pethersham save a rain-affected draw against University of NSW in the Sydney first grade competition on Saturday. The 19-year-old took 3-43 with his leg-spinners the weekend before.
