
A PRISONER who escaped custody from a minimum-security correctional facility in Muswellbrook has been caught by police.
The 41-year-old man allegedly escaped about 6am on Wednesday.
Police launched a public appeal for information and a wide scale search across the Upper Hunter and nearby regions.
About 7am Thursday police attended a car park on Byng Street, Orange, and arrested the 41-year-old man without incident.
He was taken to Orange Police Station and charged with inmate escape/attempt to escape from lawful custody.
He was refused bail to appear at Orange Local Court on Thursday.
