A new exhibition that opens to the public in Swansea on Saturday will shine a spotlight on consumption and waste habits.
Waste To Art, which features works aimed at encouraging people to change their consumption and waste practices for the better, was launched at SEEN@Swansea on Friday night.
Lake Macquarie City Council’s acting sustainability manager Chris Harle said it featured more than 30 pieces – all made from recycled material.
School students, artists and individuals from the community contributed works to the exhibition.
“It is hoped the exhibition will challenge the community to think about their attitudes and behaviours around the waste we generate daily,” Mr Harle said.
“This exhibition is a wonderful way to showcase examples of how waste and unwanted material can be turned into something artistic.”
The exhibition will run until November 25. SEEN@Swansea is located opposite Swansea library and is open 10am to 3pm every day.
