Twice a year the fair attracts more than 400 record enthusiasts from the Hunter, Sydney and the north coast.
Organiser Stan Sykes has been collecting records since 1972 and travels back to his birthplace, England, to source vinyl every couple of years.
"I still remember the first two records I ever bought. They cost me 10p each.
"It was Slade's Cum on Feel the Noize and Susie Quatro's Devil Gate Drive.
The record fair has been held in Newcastle for eight years and Mr Sykes said he had noticed a resurgence in the popularity of vinyl during the past five years.
"Newcastle's a big music city and people are after that warm sound of vinyl," he said.
The record fair is held the first Sunday in May and November.
