ELLALONG trainer-driver Michael Formosa was ruing a poor draw for Rolling With Stell for the $20,000 Evolution Series 3YO final at Menangle on Sunday night.
Rolling With Stell gained gate 10, the widest of those horses allowed in the draw, which has become seven with scratchings.
Hot favourite, Chris Frisby’s Our Uncle Jim, drew one spot inside Rolling With Stell, which has won his past two starts, both at Newcastle.
“He’s really going along nice but the main danger drew inside of him so it makes it a little bit harder, but he should go well,” Formosa said.
Morisset’s Mark Callaghan has the strongest hand of the Hunter trainers at the meeting with Highview Freddy (race four), Power Surge (seven) and Lovin Miss Daisy (10). Keinbah’s Roy Roots jnr has Glengarry Rose in a country series final.
