Mr Hill, 47, who was represented by solicitor Drew Hamilton, did not appear in Newcastle Local Court via audio visual link from the protective custody wing of Metropolitan Remand and Reception Centre when the matter was mentioned briefly on Wednesday.
Mr Hill has been charged with kidnapping, six counts of aggravated sexual assault and four counts of aggravated indecent assault in relation to the abduction of an 11-year-old girl who was walking through Hudson Park about 9.15am on June 12. The girl was released at Kotara railway station about 2.15pm the same day.
Mr Hamilton did not enter any pleas, but did say the brief of evidence had been served on Mr Hill’s new solicitor, Ross Hill.
The matter was adjourned until December 19 when the matter will be for “charge certificate” to confirm the charges against Mr Hill.
