Helgi Heioar Steinarsson, 30, appeared in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Tuesday on one charge of importing a commercial quantity of the drug at Melbourne Airport on Sunday.
Steinarsson, from the Icelandic capital of Reykjavik, listed his address as a Melbourne hotel, but did not apply for bail.
He will remain in custody until February 13 when he's due back alongside a second Icelandic national.
That man, a 25-year-old, briefly faced court on Monday on the same charges.
Australian Federal Police say the younger man was arrested at Melbourne Airport on Monday, allegedly with four kilograms of cocaine in his suitcase lining.
It's alleged 2.7kg of cocaine was found at the hotel where Steinarsson was arrested.
Authorities say the combined seizures have an estimated street value of about $2.5 million, with further tests to prove weight and purity.
