Century Venues, which bought the building in late 2015, has been inundated with requests from those with a past association with the theatre in recent months. It followed news that the University of Newcastle’s IT Innovation team were working on a virtual recreation of the theatre as it was in the early 1890s.
The project will be unveiled at a sold out event next Tuesday night.

Members of the public will have the opportunity to walk through the historic building on Wednesday and Thursday.
“Participants can meander through the foyers and three levels of stalls, circle and gallery before viewing the stage as it was nearly 130 years ago,” a Century Venues spokesman said.
Tickets are limited to four people per 30 minute session. Sessions will run from 11am-4.30pm on Wednesday and 11am-7.30pm on Thursday.
As of Friday afternoon most of the tickets for Wednesday had been snapped up by Revive The Vic members. Some tickets remain available for Thursday.

The University of Newcastle’s IT Innovation Team has spent the past four months poring over newspaper articles and historical artefacts to help piece together the Perkins Street theatre as it was in 1891.
The finished project showcases the theatre’s exterior and internal spaces including vestibules, stair cases, stalls area, dress circle, upper circle, private boxes, orchestra pit, and stage area.
“We’ve had to work backwards from the 1921 floor plans, and essentially unwind the 30 years of changes,” project team member Gaute Rasmussen said.
