Supercars ticketing data suggests about 1000 Kiwis will attend the series finale, made up of those making the trip across the ditch and those living in Australia.
Direct flights from Auckland to Newcastle begin next Thursday, while others have stopovers in Melbourne or Brisbane.

New Zealand drivers Scott McLaughlin and Shane van Gisbergen will vie for the title on the Newcastle street circuit with only 14 points separating the pair.
“We expect a big contingent of Kiwis out of New Zealand and from around the country to head to Newcastle to watch the showdown between Scott and Shane,” a Supercars spokesman said.
“Already we know hundreds of New Zealanders are flying in next week.
“The reception those two guys had in New Zealand last week was extraordinary and the way those races panned out was a story in itself.”
