
Alejandro Escovedo is coming to Lizotte’s in March 2019.
While he’s carved out a reputation for his distinct Americana style, Escovedo has a long, rich musical history that includes punk and rock’n’roll.
His international tour touting the new album, The Crossing, kicks off n December, including a few select stops in New Zealand and Australia, including the Port Fairy Folk Festival. His gig at Lizotte’s is Tuesday, March 5 (the next two nights feature Lachy Doley and Luka Bloom).
Escovedo’s been an equal on stage with the likes of Bruce Springsteen and David Hidalgo. A 2004 tribute album of his songs includes Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, Charlie Sexton, Ian Hunter, Calexico, Charlie Musselwhite, Son Volt and The Jayhawks.
