
A MAN attempting to flee from police officers in Lake Macquarie has allegedly reversed his vehicle into a police car.
NSW Police said when officers approached a vehicle parked at the Freemans Waterhole rest area at 6.40pm on Thursday, the driver attempted to drive away, but reversed and crashed his car into the police vehicle before coming to a stop.
Hunter Valley police officers arrested the three people in the vehicle – two women and one man – and a search of the car uncovered 250 grams of methylamphetamine.
The trio was taken to Cessnock police station and charged with commercial drug supply.
A 56-year-old woman and 46-year-old woman were charged with supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity). A 24-year-old man was charged with supply prohibited drug (commercial quantity), use offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention, resist arrest, possess prohibited drug and drive whilst unlicensed.
All three were refused bail and are due to appear at Cessnock Local Court on Friday.
