Electricity supply was restored to Metford, Ashtonfield, Thornton and Broadmeadow earlier Friday afternoon after outages in high wind throughout the morning.
Around 1000 homes and businesses at Broadmeadow, near Gregson Park, were without power for several hours from aroun 11.10am.
Emergency crews had estimated lights should come back on around 1.30pm.
Ausgrid has said parts of the Hunter network has been impacted by damaging winds.
The outage has affected homes and businesses between Donald and Belford streets, and Beaumont Street toward the Newcastle Entertainment Centre at Brown Road.
Around 900 homes at Ashtonfield, Thornton and Metford are also without power. Crews are investigating the cause of the outage, and have estimated the power will come back on around 2pm.
