Metro League is one of the elite netball competitions in NSW, offering weekly competition for the state’s most talented netballers.
Hunter Netball will have two teams in the 2019 Metro League, with early indications showing a spot in both division one and division four for the 2019 season.
The Academy are currently on the hunt for netballers aged 16 and above to be a part of this squad, with a trial to be held this Sunday, December 9 at the University of Newcastle.
Hunter United have previously been a successful brand in the Metro League, leveraging opportunity for regional athletes to compete against their metropolitan counterparts.
The search is also on for junior athletes to represent Lake Macquarie next year at the world’s largest multi-sports youth games competition, the International Children’s Games being held in Ufa, Russia.
Lake Macquarie was the first city in the southern hemisphere to host the games, winning the bid in 2010 to host the 48th Summer International Children’s Games in December, 2014.
Entry to the Lake Mac ICG 2019 team is open to athletes born in 2004, 2005 and 2006 who either live in Lake Macquarie or attend a Lake Macquarie school.
