Creator Rhiannon McDermott said her “Throsby City School” provided public amenity for nearby residents and a new high school for the inner-city.
The school buildings in the design use heavy, exposed timber reflecting the old Lee wharves along that section of the harbour.
The work is one of more than 50 final-year projects from Master of Architecture students in the Affect + Effect exhibition on Friday from 5 to 10pm at The Station in Scott Street.
Parts of the exhibition, which the university also staged in Sydney last week, will be open from 9am to 5pm on Thursday and Friday.
