
Toddler drowns in backyard pool in Port Stephens
POLICE will prepare a report for the coroner after a child drowned in a backyard pool in Port Stephens.
About 6.40pm Sunday police were called to a home on Marsh Road, Bobs Farm, after a 19-month-old boy was found unconscious in a swimming pool.
NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and performed CPR, however, he could not be saved.
A crime scene was established and officers from Port Stephens Police District will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Initial investigations suggest there were no suspicious circumstances involved.
