Darren Penn, of Ray White Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, is marketing an original three-bedroom home at 57 Frederick Street.
It is headed for an on-site auction on March 2 and a price guide has not been set.
“The property has been in the family for almost a century. It’s time to sell it and let the market determine the price,” Mr Penn said.

The home was built in the early 1900s. It was bought in 1924 by Hester and Robert Steven, who raised their four children there. Hester and Robert’s daughter Amy and husband Ken Parkes then purchased it in 1965.
Their daughters Brenda, Janice and Margaret said it was a wonderful place to grow up and a much-loved family home. They often watched whales go by, got their bread by horse and cart and caught the tram from Mitchell Street.
The home is positioned on 623 square metres of land and surrounded by multi-million dollar properties.
It is open for inspection on Saturday from 1pm.

‘Character’ in church at Minmi
It is unusual to see churches come to market but there are two for sale in our area.
Jason Maxwell and Patrick Collins, of Raine and Horne Newcastle, are marketing the Mary and St George Christian Coptic Orthodox Church at 19 Church Street in Minmi, which has “a bit of character” with a guide of $400,000 to $440,000.
First National Newcastle City will take the former St David’s Church at 16 York Street in Teralba to auction today, also with a guide of $400,000 to $440,000.
The church at Minmi occupies a corner position, is zoned R2 and has attracted “good, strong enquiry” during the first week or its marketing campaign.
“It’s got a bit of character and is like this warehouse conversion to residential we’ve seen,” Mr Maxwell said. “Churches have got that similar interest where you have some ornate features, high ceilings. They can be quite smart and quite different.”

North Lambton surprise packet
Interest from first home buyers and investors has been strong for a two-bedroom house in North Lambton which hit the market last week.
Tammy Hawkins, of McGrath Estate Agents, has listed 10 Fourth Street with a guide of $570,000 to $620,000 and described the property as “quite unexpected”.
“It’s been nicely renovated and really well maintained and is set up high in a quiet cul-de-sac,” Ms Hawkins said.
“It has a bit of an art deco style to it with lots of original features but it’s been modernised.
“Once you walk inside it is open plan, very tidy and has a central kitchen which flows to a covered outdoor area and a really beautiful landscaped terraced backyard.”
It is open for inspection Saturday at 11am.
‘Entry point’ to beachside suburb
It is rare to find homes under the million-dollar mark in Merewether but Robinson Property’s Mike Flook has listed a dual-level, two-bedroom residence at 20 Mary Street with a guide of $880,000 to $945,000.
“It’s entry point into Merewether and offers great value,” Mr Flook said.
It is open for inspection on Saturday at 11.15am.
