Monday’s first meeting of the year will be broadcast on the council’s website from 6.30pm.
Mayor Kay Fraser said the initiative was aimed at encouraging more engagement between council and residents.
She said it would also improve accessibility for people who could not personally attend meetings at the council’s Speers Point headquarters.
“We want our community to become more involved with council meetings and the decisions we make and let people know they’re welcome to attend in person or watch online,” Cr Fraser said.
“It demonstrates council’s open and transparent approach and continued commitment to community engagement and input into council decisions.”
Council said in a statement a downloadable video of the meeting would be made available on its website the following day.
