According to the Bureau of Meteorology a trough moving across the region will see severe thunderstorms hit the city on Saturday.
“It will be fairly showery, stormy, with severe thunderstorms to hit in the afternoon and evening,” forecaster Olenka Duma said.
“There will be damaging winds, large hail and heavy rainfall.”

Winds will make for rough conditions conditions on the coast, but the severe weather is expected to push out to sea on Sunday.
This will give residents a short reprieve from the humid conditions of summer. Temperatures will reach 31 degrees Celsius on Saturday, but will drop to 25 on Sunday.
