A second-half hat-trick from Will Bower launched Edgeworth into the Heritage Cup semi-finals on Sunday as all three participating NPL clubs progressed with two wins.

Edgeworth, the four-time defending NPL premiers, defeated second-tier New Lambton 4-0 at Johnston Park on Sunday after a scoreless first half. Archie Finn also scored for Edgeworth, who beat Wallsend 2-1 in their other Pool C game.
Also on Sunday, West Wallsend defeated Minmi Wanderers 6-2 after a 1-1 half-time score to claim the remaining semi-final spot. Joseph Holt (2), Ryan Cole, Brendan Frost, Bronson Marshall and Josh Knight scored for the Bluebells. Minmi had goals from Kane Rodgers and Jay Dobinson.
On Saturday night at Turner Park, NPL side and defending Heritage Cup champions Weston defeated second-division Cessnock 3-1 to top Pool A.
Goals from Liam Nivison and Melbourne recruit Sam Kamper, as well as a penalty from Jamie Subat, put Weston in control before a scoreless second half. The other NPL club in the pre-season competition, Lake Macquarie, topped Pool B.
