ALL anti-vaccination people should go the nearest hospital and go to the nursery and watch the little ones trying to get some air into their lungs. It's a terrible sight. People who have not had their needles should not be allowed outside their front door. If you are scared of a little needle then I'm sure the nurse or doctor would give you a pain killer. Please have your needle now.

MR Bill Shorten has declined to spell out the cost of his energy and electric car policies for Australia. He has described persistent questions about the cost as stupid and dishonest. Dr Brian Fisher, a well respected economics modeller, has estimated that the cost of Mr Shorten's climate/energy policy could be as much as $500 billion. Mr Shorten has flatly rejected this estimate but provides no verifiable costing of his own. Is Mr Shorten expecting Australians to vote in un-costed energy and electric-car policies as a blank-cheque policy? Should we now call Mr Shorten "Blank-Cheque Bill"?

A VALUABLE and interesting letter from Moira Boettcher (Letters, 14/5) but she does not say how long she breastfed her children.

HOW good is Scott Morrison? Good. We know how good he is because he told us so, at length, at the Scott Morrison launch in Melbourne. When? On Mothers' Day. Mansplaining. Fifty-two minutes of Scott, telling us about Scott. Not much about policy, not much about his team, not much about future plans. Not much at all. Just Scott talking about Scott. When will it all end? Very, very soon.

I THINK the Liberal party's election launch was like the launch of the Titanic.

WITH scientists recording the highest levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere ever recorded in human history on the weekend in Hawaii, maybe it's time we took this whole climate change thing seriously. The last time CO2 levels were this high human beings didn't exist. Here's to the future.

BILL Shorten said his party would crack down on labour hire firms. He seems to have forgotten it was revealed in the royal commission into unions that he oversaw an employment deal in which workers at a mushroom packing plant were sacked and then had to apply for their jobs through a "labour hire company". I understand the firm paid money to the union he was head of. Perhaps he has a short memory.
