Unlike the semi-trailer that had its wide load stuck on a highway ramp at Cameron Park on Monday, the jack-in-the-box and its semi-trailer had an uneventful journey from the showground at Broadmeadow, where it was built.

The box will sit at Wheeler Place as a conversation starter until noon on Friday, when show general manager Gabe Robinson is promising “an all-round mini taste of what the show will be”.
“We’ll have Jack the mascot, live music, a pen of goats, a motorbike and samples of fairy-floss and food,” Mr Robinson said.
“Have a nibble, have a watch, and then get back about your day.”
Show association chairman Daniel Wallace said that he and other volunteers built the box at the showground.
“I’ve still got my welding skills,” Mr Wallace, who is also the secretary of union peak body Hunter Workers, said.
The jack-in-the-box is part of an effort to rejuvenate Newcastle show, which has struggled financially in recent years.
Rebranded this year as “The Show”, the event runs from Friday, March 1, to Sunday, March 3.
