The delivery of a brief of evidence against a man charged with murder over the death of Whitebridge resident Philip Steele is "imminent", a prosecutor has told Belmont Local Court.

Mr Steele, a 60-year-old who was known to police, died after three men allegedly attacked him in his bedroom in the early hours of December 17.

Daniel William Mahoney, 19, was one of three people arrested and charged with murder over Mr Steele's death.
Mr Mahoney briefly appeared at Belmont Local Court via audio visual link on Wednesday, where the matter was adjourned to March 6, when Mr Mahoney's co-accused Luke Jones, 23, and Jeremy Garvey, 24, will also face court.
