Hope Estate will host a second concert on Sunday January 12, 2020.
The announcement was made on Wednesday "due to phenomenal demand in the pre-sale".
The three-year global Farewell Yellow Brick Road is expected to be the curtain call for the legendary performer in Australia, and from touring.
The tour began in September 2018 and is designed to celebrate the half a century Elton John and lyricist Bernie Taupin have collaborated.
“I always love coming back to Australia,” John said in a statement. “Ever since my first visit in 1971 it has held a very special place in my heart.”
“I plan to bring to my final tour the passion and creativity that has entertained my fans for decades … it’s the most produced and fantastic show I’ve ever done.
“I want to go out with a bang.”
Tickets for the additional Hunter Valley show will go on sale on Friday February 15 at 9am.
