Former Marist Brother Dominic O’Sullivan has been charged with new sexual offences on boys in the 1970s.

The 80-year-old has been charged with two counts of indecent assault on a boy at Hamilton between January 1973 and December 1974.
He was also charged with three counts of indecent assault against another boy at Hamilton between January and December 1977.
O’Sullivan, who appeared via video link in Newcastle Local Court on Thursday, was charged by Strike Force Georgiana detectives on February 14.
He has not entered pleas to the charges, which have been referred to the District Court for mention on May 2.
O’Sullivan was sentenced to a maximum six years’ jail in September, 2016 for crimes against 12 former students.
He was sentenced to a further eight years’ jail in November 2018 for crimes against a further 15 students, and under new NSW laws allowing sentences to reflect current standards.
