"The centre’s educational approach is deeply inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy in our toddlers and preschool rooms with a strong emphasis on child-led learning, with our infant rooms inspired by the RIE (Resources for Infant Educarer) and Pikler philosophy.

“The key focus is to create capable, strong, competent, creative, curious children, armed with the skills to explore their world effectively,” Ms Holmes continued..

“Our centre provides an environment where children can express ideas and pursue curiosities through a variety of project-based learning, individually or in a group.”

Nurture and Develop Early Childhood was established in November 2018 and draws children from Newcastle, Maitland, Raymond Terrace and the Upper Hunter.

“Many more people these days are commuting into Newcastle and surrounding suburbs for work and/or study or vice versa working up the valley, and our easy accessibility near the Inner City bypass and Pacific Highway is really appealing for busy families on the move,” Ms Holmes said.

“We believe that families can leave their children knowing that they are safe and secure," she continued.

“Our learning spaces and philosophies facilitate learning at the child’s pace with the emphasis on play, investigation, research and analysis both by the child and the educator. Children’s learning is documented through floorbook and individual portfolio so that the families can see the process."

Nurture and Develop Early Childhood, located at 23 Rural Drive, Sandgate, is fully accredited and currently has vacancies in all age groups.
