Fire investigators were called in to establish the cause of an intense blaze at Kilaben Bay at 2am on Wednesday.
The fire destroyed a garage and car, with heat damage to a boat and trailer. Crews from Toronto, Teralba and Wangi Wangi were on scene and stopped the fire from spreading to a nearby house.
While two crews extinguished the garage fire, a third team used a hose stream to create a cut-off between the garage and house.
Fire and Rescue NSW Cessnock and Bellbird stations attended a house fire at 3am on Tuesday at Cessnock.
With reports of a single level house completely ablaze, the crews initial efforts were to confirm that no one was still inside. Once the all clear was given, crews concentrated on putting out the formidable fire.
The inferno was brought under control and firefighters remained on scene for several hours to ensure the fire had been completely extinguished.
