A contingent of 22 players, four coaches and 10 umpires from the Hunter Academy of Sport attended the two-day camp alongside other regional academies from across the state.
Head coach of the NSW Swifts Briony Akle and her GIANTS Netball counterpart Julie Fitzgerald were on hand to share their knowledge, while Swifts captain Maddy Proud and Diamonds skipper Caitlin Bassett added some star quality.
The athletes also completed a session with former Olympic sprint coach John Quinn, while Australian sprint legend Melinda Gainsford Taylor inspired the athletes with her story of journeying from a young Narromine athlete to a three-time Olympian.
Specialist sessions with many experienced high performance coaches also took place, including a special visit from the NSW Institute of Sport's psychologist Dr Edel Langan.
"A highlight of the rotations was a cooperative activity that challenged athletes to understand themselves a little more deeply and to work together as a team," Margaret Hamley, Netball NSW pathways manager, said.
The Netball NSW High Performance Camp was a great opportunity for the athletes to come together in a high performance setting in preparation for the 2019 Academy Games, to be held on April 12th-14th in the Hunter.
