What kind of lifestyle do you want for yourself as you head into your retirement and your senior years?

Are you looking for that next level of care and support?

Supported living is a new concept in seniors living that aims to combine the best points of both independent retirement village living and traditional aged care.

It allows you to retain the freedom of living in your own comfortable home but with the peace of mind that if anything happens, or you need more care, there is someone on hand to help straight away.

One of the newest options in this concept is Cameron Glen, a supported living village located in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie area, that's officially opened and providing this different way of seniors living.

Cameron Glen Village offers independent living combined with traditional care services in an environment that's all about choice, and where friendly staff are always available to answer questions or have a chat.

The focus is on lifestyle. With a choice of one, two or three bedrooms, residents are able to live in their own private self-contained villa, featuring a state of the art kitchen with stone benchtops, stainless steel appliances, one or two bathrooms and a sunny private courtyard.

While you can live completely independently in your Cameron Glen home you can relax knowing that nursing staff are on site and on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week if needed.

Care staff can attend to residents in their own home as required and can provide assistance with showering, personal care and medication supervision.

Cameron Glen will be an accredited Approved Aged Care provider, facilitating access to Government Funded Home Care packages for its residents and will be able to provide for all high and low care requirements at no additional cost to the resident so you will never have to move again. It also means couples can stay together and won't have to experience the anguish of separation that usually happens when one partner needs to go into a nursing home.

When it comes to dining there are plenty of options too. Your kitchen awaits for you to continue cooking for yourself, your family and friends, but for those requiring meals prepared for them the Cameron Glen dining room is open daily to residents and their guests for lunch and dinner.

A delicious complimentary morning tea is also served at 10.30 each morning.

The hub of the Cameron Glen village is the Community Centre providing residents with an array of optional activities to get you moving, socialising and learning new things. They include exercise classes, bingo, craft sessions, movie nights and regular visiting entertainers.

The village bus is available to ensure residents have easy access to major local shopping centres, and can go on regular outings and attend appointments when needed.

Cameron Glen is also very proud of its pet-friendly status so the furry members of your family are welcome too.

If you would like to know more about what Cameron Glen can offer you or a family member make a note in your diary to come and meet the staff at the Grand Opening Day on Saturday, May 4 from 10am to 2pm and see for yourself. It's located at 40 Harris Street, Cameron Park.

If you're unable to make it on the day please call 02 4958 8880 today for an information pack to be sent to you.
