Tides are beginning to get bigger during the morning, which may fill some breaks.
Swell from the south to southeast at half a metre to 1m. Wind moderate south-west to south-east.
Try the inner reefs for the early with Cowrie Hole looking to handle the tide. Alley at Newcastle Beach and South Bar and Dixon. Dudley and Moonie to the south. Fingal and One Mile up at Port Stephens.
Water is still warmer in the out and some kelp at Nobbys.
If you are not a strong swimmer go to patrolled beaches only.
