TONY Morley (Letters 20/4) regurgitates the old argument that just because Australia's contribution to the world's greenhouse gases is only 1.2% (it's actually much higher) we shouldn't have to contribute to its reduction. He could equally argue that since him, and every tax payer in Australia, only pays a tiny fraction of the total government revenue they could therefore be excused from bothering to pay tax. Sadly it doesn't work that way, our government funding is the sum of small amounts, just as the world's greenhouse shroud is the sum of all nations with addiction to fossil fuels.

FOR sale, cheap: one Knights membership. Only used at weekends, slightly rusted from tears.
Bill Slicer, Tighes Hill
HERE we go Knights, here we go ... again! After Round 1 we're touted as top 8, after Round 6 we're seen as probably fighting to avoid the wooden spoon ... again. See what a cultural change has done for prior Knights players gone elsewhere (and there's now many), who are opposing us? I believe the Knights are in need of a cultural change. In this grade of football winning isn't only one thing, it's the only thing. I can't see Phil Gardner putting up with the mediocrity for too much longer. Thank God for Kalyn.
Neil Allen, Newcastle
I BELIEVE Nathan Brown needs to drop Danny Levi. In my opinion his passes are the reason capable players are dropping the ball at crucial times. Jamie Buhrer is a better dummy half option.

IF John Howard had not stuffed up the succession, Peter Costello at 62 would have romped it in. Mind you, a 75-year-old Paul Keating would shorten the odds.

IF you ask me, the most effective campaign tactic for either Bill Shorten or Scott Morrison would be to disappear until the election is over.

TO the anonymous person (Short Takes 23/4) who won't drink tap water and is concerned about the quality of bottled water from the supermarket because it may be causing hair loss. Lots of people simply boil their tap water in a kettle and, when it cools, transfer it into a suitable jug and leave it in the fridge. When the jug is empty, repeat the same procedure. I can't guarantee the hairline will advance but it is safe and a lot cheaper than buying water.

LAST week we lost one of our long-time contributors to the Letters page, Lee Craddock. His witty humour and wealth of knowledge were always on the mark. Rest in peace, big fellow, you will be missed by all who loved your articles.

TO Colin Fordham (Short Takes 23/4), thank you. A valuable lesson has been learned by yours truly, Captain Meathead; don't drink and write. Not that I'm using my love of a beer or 10 as an excuse for my lack of integrity on this occasion. Cheers.
