Member of the organising committee and Newcastle High student Miette Xenith said the event would comprise speeches and a small march in the lead up to the May 18 federal election.
"It's important to make sure that the people in power locally, nationally and globally know we're not just trying to get out of school and this is not something we're doing once. We're going to keep speaking up."
Miette said telling students to stay at school instead of protest was like "painting a house that was on fire".
"We have to make sure the world is going to continue before we make sure we can succeed in it."
Miette said the first strike last November drew about 400 people and the second on March 15 about 1500.
"We weren't expecting anywhere near that number so it could go either way. It could be the same or the number could jump astronomically again."
