For the second time in three years, cousins Lucas Beer (navigator) and Dean George (driver) have won the gruelling D'Aquino Liquor Condo 750, one of Australia's most iconic cross country motorsport events.

Sponsored by Morisset companies Area Timber and Fencing and Ausconstruct, prevailed against more fancied rivals in the 2019 event held at Condobolin in April.

The Condo 750 features two days of high speed technical racing on a track 1200km long across challenging terrain. Some competitors use the Condo 750 as a test for the Dakar Rally.

"Without the support and commitment of long-time sponsors Area Timber and Fencing and Ausconstruct there would be no chance of us attending," Dean said.

"The mechanical test of building our cars versus the teams having cars professionally built or even importing cars from overseas makes the rally even more interesting for us to see how we can compete against much more developed teams and vehicles."

Lucas was happy to win his second Condo 750 in three years. "It's great to know we can compete at the top level but we couldn't do it without our sponsors," he said.

This year Area Timber and Fencing and Ausconstruct sponsored a second team in the Condo 750 with Lucas's brother Tyler in the drivers seat and veteran Malcolm George (father of Dean) doing the navigating.

"I'm not used to being on the other side of the car reading notes," Malcolm said. "But it was great to be with Tyler for his first event and see the improvements he made."

Tyler bounced back strongly after rolling the vehicle on day one to get to the finish.

"It was a great achievement for the team," Tyler said.

The support team made up of employees and family members from Area Timber and Fencing and Ausconstruct was crucial to success.

"A big thanks to family, friends and the service team Robert Dollar and Chris Clarke who keep the car mechanically in check and able to keep up the pace of the other competitors," Terry and Sonia Beer, parents of Tyler and Lucas and co-directors of Area Timber and Fencing and Ausconstruct, said.

Area Timber and Fencing offer innovative fencing and timber products in addition to steel and associated hardware and accessories. They also have their our own powder coating facility to customise and finish products to specific customer requirements.

Ausconstruct is a trusted building company specialising in new homes, renovations, kitchens, pergolas and decks.
