Grade play
In grade 2 on Saturday, Windale and East Maitland are safe but a loss to Charlestown against Kotara or Raymond Terrace against Wallsend may see them miss the playoffs.
Grade 3 has Raymond Terrace needing a point to be safe in section 1, Nelson Bay leads but must win against East Maitland or they can be caught by Swansea Workers, while in section 3 the winner of Adamstown against Beresfield will advance.
Grade 4 have Karuah RSL, New Lambton, Hamilton North, Merewether, Alder Park, Edgeworth and Windale all qualified with the remaining spot between Raymond Terrace, away to Beresfield, or East Maitland, who are home against Karuah.
Grade 5 has Beresfield, East Maitland and Raymond terrace assured of a playoff spot, Windale need to beat bottom-placed Belmont to advance and Mayfield need to win away at New Lambton to hold off a challenge from Merewether should they beat Hamilton North.
Grade 6 has Merewether, East Maitland, Soldiers Point/1, Cardiff/1, Beresfield/1 and Kahibah through with Stockton needing a win over New Lambton and we will need to wait for results on Sunday in section 6 to see the remaining finalists.
Grade 7 will see Edgeworth, Alder Park, Tea Gardens, in the playoffs but the other five spots are wide open going into the last round.
