A MAN who suffered a gunshot wound following a domestic dispute near Dungog has died in hospital.

Emergency services were called to a property on Bingleburra Road, Bingleburra, at about midday on Sunday, May 12, following reports two men had been shot.
It is understood the family was celebrating Mother's Day when a dispute broke out between the stepbrothers.
Police said two men - aged 35 and 28 - were involved in an altercation, where the older man sustained a gunshot wound to the chest.
They said the younger man fled the property but was found nearby, suffering a gunshot wound to the head that was believed to be self-inflicted.
Both men were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before they were airlifted to John Hunter Hospital.
The younger man was in a critical condition in intensive care, and the older man was in a serious but stable condition.
On Tuesday, May 14, the younger man died, NSW Police Media said.
The older man remains at John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Officers from Port Stephens-Hunter Police District would continue to investigate the incident and a report would be prepared for the Coroner.
