Miss Riviera Belle has finished a long-priced placegetter at Menangle in two of her three starts since coming to Francis from the Sydney stables of Shane and Lauren Tritton.
The seven-year-old mare won three group 3 races, as well as the 2015 Newcastle Derby and Oaks, while with the Trittons.
Francis, who operates Little Jack Horner's Bakery at Argenton, has only four horses in work and was glad to get a Menangle-class performer.
"I got her off Shane Tritton and he's not one you like to pick up horses from, because they are hard to improve off good trainers," Francis said.
"But her owner, Col Screen, has brought her home to breed with her at the end of the year and he just asked me if I wanted to have a play with her for six months and see what I can do.
"She's half a chance tomorrow night.
"She drew well down there both times and she was three back the fence and got a nice run. Four is not too bad a draw tomorrow night and she's not out of it. That last start she broke 1:51 and she's only done that once before in her life, so she seems to be happy to be at my place."
At Newcastle on Friday night, Mitch Faulkner's Ready To Bloom and Sam Dimarco's Black Silhouette were Country Series heat winners.
