Phoenix take on second-tier Kahibah at Speers Point (10am) on Saturday in the Cup. Maitland play Boambee (12.30pm), Hamilton clash with Bangalow (3pm) and Edgeworth meet Broadmdeadow (5.30pm) in the other final-eight matches.
Valentine, who are ninth in the NPL, were set to play their rescheduled league match with 10th-placed Adamstown next week but moved it to avoid a potential clash with a Cup final-four game.
The club also gave up hosting rights for the game, which was to be at Adamstown Oval from 6.45pm. It was declared a wash out on Wednesday morning.
"Just with the busy schedule of FFA Cup, and we've already got a couple of make-up games later in the year, so the more we waited, the more congested it would become," Phoenix co-coach Sam Griffin said. "We moved it to Adamstown because normally we would play our night games at Cahill Oval, but the field is no state."
It was to be the last NPL game for Valentine's Ben Hay and Josh Carroll before they go overseas. Griffin said the pair would play in the Cup then miss four NPL games.
** NNSW Football reminded premier competition clubs of their obligations to act on match official abuse last week as it looked into four code of conduct breaches.
** Broadmeadow coach Ruben Zadkovich said Andrew Hoole will be part of the club's FFA Cup run.
Hoole returned to Magic on Sunday against Edgeworth after 137 A-League games. He hopes to get back into the A-League but will be Cup-tied at a new club if he plays for Magic on Saturday.
Daniel McBreen will miss the game for Edgeworth.
** Valentine were grateful for a chance to discuss their issues with referees with NNSWF match official administration and development senior officer Brad Carlin last week.
Carlin came out to Valentine training midweek to look at videos and discuss interpretations with the squad.
"It was just about opening a line of communication and getting some clarification on some things, which was good because there were a few things we didn't know," Griffin said.
"And we got to show some them a few things from our point of view. It was a pretty good exercise."
