SUCCESS STORY: Commitment to local industry, superior design and manufacturing focus are the key factors in the long-term success of GH Fabrications.

GH Fabrications is a Tomago-based manufacturer that thrives on meeting the specific needs of its customers through intuitive design and fabrication capabilities.

A leading specialist in ventilation control devices for the mining industry as well as stormwater management and modular housing, GH Fabrications has established a reputation based on outstanding quality, the ability to meet any deadline, creativity and innovation, plus focused collaboration with stakeholders.

"As our name states we are a fabrication plant and can cater for any project requirements from large scale tenders to small scale projects," general manager Luc Botton said.

"We have been involved in many different projects from coreten decorative ponds as a garden feature to large scale civil drainage works as well as all underground mining ventilation control systems, both existing and bespoke, as required.

"We have established a large footprint in the modular housing industry including but not limited to the top floor metal work for the Sydney City Roosters' new entertainment building."

A classic example of the collaborative manner in which GH Fabrications works to provide client solutions is a prototype web control-based air regulator the company has developed for a major mining client.

During a mine visit by general manager Luc Botton it was identified that a remote device that could monitor certain parameters would be beneficial to the mine.

"Although some remote devices are used in mining, the remote control is usually local to the actual device itself," Mr Botton explained.

"The IP and technology we have developed is in the remote web control system that can be logged into via any 'smart device' and remotely operated.

"It is also able to not only monitor all required sensors (up to 50 different types according to customer request) but also record the data for review at a later date."

Commitment to local industry, superior design and manufacturing focus are the key factors in the long-term success of GH Fabrications.

"The company is in a steady growth phase with a large level of differentiation not only in our current widgets but with a distinct focus on new technology for the mining industry to help with efficiencies and safety," Mr Botton said.

"Our long-standing employees have been the backbone of the business's strong reputation.

"We're committed to keeping manufacturing in the Hunter by supporting the apprenticeship program through Hunter Net and we also support local suppliers by obtaining steel."
