BEACH WATCH

Back end of the swell and small clean waves throughout the morning. Not too consistent and light onshore for the afternoon. Most beaches have good banks and few shore breaks on the high. Swell from the south to south-east at 1m. Wind light to moderate north-west to west tending south-west to south. Mid-morning low tide with banks off Nobbys, Newcastle Beach, South Bar and Dixon. Shore breaks at Pogos and Merewether. Burwood, Redhead and Moonie to the south. Birubie and Samurai up at Port Stephens. Cowrie on afternoon high tide. Kelp in the corner of Merewether and a warm current about. Slight sweeps in southern corners. Swim at patrolled beaches. Water temp 19C - Dave Anderson
