BEACHWATCH

Small clean waves before the tide starts to fill most of the beach breaks. Light offshore and set waves not that consistent. Try the inner reefs on the afternoon high. Swell from the south east to south at 0.5 to one metre. Wind north to north west tending north east. Tides a bit full for the early and try the reef breaks at Cowrie, Bar Beach and Merewether. Dixon and Newcastle Beach best on the morning's low tide. Burwood, Redhead and Catho to the south. Birubi up at Port Stephens. Kelp build up in the corner of Merewether. Gutters are forming in close. Water temperature 18C.
