National NDIS service provider Lifestyle Solutions sees everyone as equal.

Their focus is on providing tailored services that meet individual needs and build independence, confidence and community connections.

Independence means different things to different people. It can mean living in your own home, learning how to read, cook, manage finances or use public transport. It might mean volunteering, joining a music or dance group or taking up sport.

Whatever the goal or ambition, Lifestyle Solutions respects the passion and commitment it takes to achieve these things and their teams work closely with customers to help them live the life they want.

The Supported Independent Living programs cater to abilities and interests and help people develop life skills.

They actively work with their customers to connect them with Support Workers who share similar interests and who have the skills and experience to help them pursue their goals.

For Lifestyle Solutions' customer Rodney, meeting his Support Worker Marliene was life-changing.

"When I first started supporting Rodney, he was told by doctors that he would be hospitalised indefinitely if he didn't change his lifestyle," Marliene said.

So, with her go-getting attitude, Marliene started to help Rodney see a brighter and healthier future.

Always supportive and encouraging, she patiently worked with Rodney on his road to recovery. Six years on, he's lost 157 kilos.

"Rodney's gone from being house-bound and very unhappy to become a bubbly, bright man with more independence who relates well to everyone he meets," Marliene said.

Rodney underwent two major operations on his leg which helped increase his mobility and he and Marliene began a regular exercise regime which they still maintain.

Their daily routine includes a 1.5 km walk from Rodney's home to an outdoor community exercise gym where they complete a workout program.

Then it's back home to cook breakfast together and Rodney starts on his daily tasks.

"Rodney no longer needs a walker, his diabetes is in remission, he's regaining his independence and he's a much happier person," Marliene said.

Delivering reliable, responsive, flexible, friendly, empathetic and caring service to their customers, families and carers is at the heart of everything Lifestyle Solutions does.

They also offer support coordination, recreational programs, respite accommodation, specialist clinical services, transition to work and tenancy supports - all which can be included in an NDIS plan.
