Curve Gallery is back open for Queer Vessels by Joseph Johnson & Lezlie Tilley. Johnson influenced by his post-graduate studies in London is exhibiting his Queer Hunt series consisting of 140 small scale portraits of historical people in history (inclusive 12,000BC to 2017). While Tilley delivers yet another stunning display of her ability to combine complex pattern making with a minimalist design through a series of drawings on paper.

The University of Newcastle Gallery, is exhibiting Bachelor of Creative Industries (Honours) student exhibitions. Lolita Manukian and Michelle Wellham are presenting separate conceptual ceramic installations until July, 6.

The latest textile art by Lois Parish Evans are now at Timeless Textiles. Combining free-hand quilt and embroidery techniques, Nature's Abstraction uses the sewing machine to create wall hangings inspired by the details found in nature.

The Fireshed Gallery, Wollombi is exhibiting until July, 16 a wombat themed exhibition. Wombats are particularly affected by mange and a group of artists all with connections to Wollombi have organised an exhibition and will donate a percentage of their sales towards this issue. Artworks range from illustrations to printmaking, textile art, ceramics, wood sculpture and photography. Open weekends10am to 4pm.
