Forsythes were 35-33 winners over West in round one of the Newcastle open netball championship and remain unbeaten atop the competition standings. Taylor did not play that match but will be part of a full-strength line-up for third-placed West this weekend.
Seven Forsythes players were part of Newcastle's open team which won the NSW title last weekend.
"If we can take that sort of intensity [from the state titles] into this game I think we can give them a run," Baber said.
West coach Tracey Baggs expected Forsythes to be firing after the state victory.
"Probably the difference in the game could be that the majority of Forsythes played all weekend last weekend together, so they're probably going to have that game time connection," Baggs said.
"There's a lot to be said about court time together and they had a lot of that in the last week. The difference this time around is I will have Maddie Taylor back. Last time I had to play with an untried shooting combination but this time I will be back with a fairly tried and true shooting line-up.
"I don't like losing and neither do the girls and there's been a bit of chat that we're ready to get out there."
They meet at 3.45pm while on the other court Nova Queens Wharf go up against Maryville Tavern. At 2.30pm, Junction Hotel play West 2 and BNC Whanau meet Souths Lions, who have lost midcourt dynamo Narelle Eather to a knee injury sustained playing for Newcastle at the NSW titles.
In Super Netball, Samantha Poolman's Giants take on the NSW Swifts and the Queensland Firebirds play Melbourne Vixens on Sunday. On Saturday, West Coast host Adelaide and Sunshine Coast are at home to Collingwood.
