Newcastle Herald senior journalist Scott Bevan showed off his best disco moves at the charity dance off in front of 500 people at Wests City on Saturday night. The veteran reporter donned a white jumpsuit and wig and performed to Boogie Wonderland with dancing instructor Rachel Mackie, from Newcastle Dance Academy.
"While I applaud Lauren and Jenni, I am disappointed there wasn't an award for best costume," Bevan said following the Cancer Council NSW fundraising event.
"We all had a lot of fun, but more importantly we were all keenly aware that everyone on stage and everyone in the auditorium had a connection somehow to cancer, and everyone in the room is committed to doing what they can to get rid of this disease."
Drinkwater also won the highest fundraiser prize. Lissome gym's Nerida Bint won the People's Choice award. The event raised $162,000 for the Cancer Council NSW.
