In March Grant Walmsley (lead guitar) launched JetsPlayJets with other ex-members Richie Lara (guitar) and Brad Heaney (drums) to celebrate the 30-year anniversary of the band which exploded out of Newcastle and achieved international success. Local musos Justin Ngariki (vocals) and Paul Coxon (bass) completed the line-up.
Walmsley famously fell out with his former school friend Gleeson in 2006.
When asked about Walmsley's JetsPlayJets, Gleeson said: "We don't pay much attention to that. It's totally up to him if he wants to do it."
Former drummer Craig Rosevear played two shows at Wests Cardiff with the Jets in May and Gleeson said they loved having "Rosie" back behind the skins.
"There's a few guys from over the years who are more than welcome to come on stage anytime because we've maintained friendships," he said.
"There's others that the hatchets have been buried too deep. But that's rock'n'roll."
Gleeson and bassist Paul Woseen - the remaining members from the band's glory years - were back in Newcastle this week to announce their performance with American giants KISS at No.1 Sportsground on November 23 as part of the Newcastle 500 Supercars.

They also unveiled plans to record a new album of original material next year. The Jets achieved their first top-50 ARIA album in 16 years when Chrome was released in 2016 and they followed it with the covers record, Gotcha Covered, two years later.
"I've got a phone-full of new songs," Gleeson said. "We've just got to find the time to get back in the studio and nut it out."
