The American premium fishing and family boat brand will be launched in Australia at the end of this year, with Cobalt's Boats of Australia partnering with the prestigious US brand to act as distributors throughout the country.
"We know how the team in Australia have grown Cobalt to be the largest export market outside of the USA, and we look forward to having the same success with Pursuit," Pursuit Boats vice-president of international sales, George Hetzel, says.
The general manager of Cobalt Boats of Australia, Andy Clayton, says his team are very excited to be bringing the leader in the saltwater outboard fishing segment to Australia.
"The Pursuit boat is a premium offshore fishing boat that has crossed over into a versatile family boat while also offering pure sportfishing models in its range," Andy says.
"Dad gets to fish, you can tow the kids for water sports, and there's plenty of seating for mum and guests to sit back and relax, making the Pursuit a suitable boat for the whole family."
Pursuit, which was introduced in 1977, was developed into a high-end boutique brand in the vein of much larger fishing boat companies.
The range is an award-winning product line of Centre Console, Offshore, Sport and Dual Console models and extends from 7 to over 12 metres with dual console family runabouts, enclosed cockpit models and hard top sport fish offerings.
"We cater to a clientele with a range of boating needs and high expectations so our Pursuit partnership will give clients another high-performance boating option in the fishing and offshore space," Andy says.
The series of fishing boats were introduced in 1977 and is designed, developed and manufactured in the US by the family who began Tiara and is now part of the US parent company that also owns Cobalt Boats which are distributed in Australia by Cobalt of Australia.
"Adding the Pursuit brand rounds out the range we offer covering family bowriders, premium pontoon boats and now a high-end offshore range with a fishing bent," he says.
Pursuit Boats will have retail locations on the Gold Coast, Sydney and Melbourne.
The first Pursuit models to arrive in Australia in November will be the 235 DC, S288 and OS 325. The Pursuit DC 235 is packed full of comfortable seating and storage with classic styling throughout, with standards including plush cushions, standard porcelain marine head, cockpit bolsters and a neat assortment of fishing features.
At 9.14 metres, the newly launched S 288 is a compact design with strong exterior profile and industry leading features, including innovative seating arrangements, a console cabin, large in-floor fishboxes, plenty of storage for rods and lures, and a vast 90-litre live well.
It also has a fully integrated fibreglass hardtop and tempered safety glass windshield.

DEADLINE RACING
Australia's Maritimo Racing is preparing for a mass of events in the upcoming months across two different championship series in Australia and internationally.
The newly constructed Maritimo R30 is in transit from Australia to Italy for Round 1 of the UIM XCAT World Championship in Stresa, Italy, on July 19 after undergoing extensive testing on Australian waters.
The team is also busy preparing their R36 and R40 for Round 2 of the Australian Offshore Superboat Championship in Bowen, QLD, which is scheduled on the same weekend as the opening round of the UIM XCAT World Championship.
MORE POWER
Mercury Racing's new 450R has come to market with the best power-to-weight and torque-to-weight ratios of any outboard engine of 400hp or more, making it a candidate for larger, heavier boats.
Based on the same 4.6-litre V8 powerhead used for the inline six-cylinder 300R models, the additional horsepower comes from Mercury Racing's exclusive 2.4-litre twin-screw supercharger, which provides 40 per cent more torque than the 400R, is more than 300 pounds lighter than its nearest competitor, and runs on 89 octane gasoline.
The 450R uses the same slim-line cowl as the 300R and 26in centre-to-centre mounting, making it ideal for multi-engine applications, of which there were plenty at the event.
