The 10-metre dinosaur display was among more than a dozen including a koala, a pineapple and Poseidon himself that drew roughly 20,000 people across Friday and Saturday evenings.
Lake Macquarie mayor Kay Fraser said the event's success in winter was a boost for the region.
"Float Your Boat brings people together in winter, it showcases the lake and it stimulates our night-time economy," she said.
"Its success is a great credit to all the boaties who put time and effort into making such spectacular floating displays. Without them, this event couldn't happen."
Voting for the people's choice award among the displays opens Monday.
