Dessert hasn't been the same for Novocastrians since Yogurtland opened its doors six years ago and completely changed the game.

Paul Siderovski knew he had to get the concept to Australia after just one taste on a family holiday in Hawaii. Paul was a self-proclaimed "ice cream guy" and couldn't believe he was eating frozen yogurt.

If you haven't visited one of the three Hunter locations yet, there's a chance, like Paul, you've got some outdated thoughts when it comes to the treat; but, Yogurtland are the pioneers in self-serve frozen yogurt. They do one thing and they do it well.

Their commitment to taste, quality, and innovation is clear when you look at their 80+ flavour range chock-a-block with fan favourites like Classic Cookies & Cream, Cheesecake, and Alphonso Mango Tart.

Four new limited time flavours hit stores these school holidays so get in quick to try

  • Chocolate Toffee
  • Caramel Almond Bar
  • Boysenberry Pie
  • Butterscotch

So, how is it that frozen yogurt can taste so good? Firstly, it is nothing like the packaged frozen yogurts that you bought from the school canteen years ago. This is more like a creamy soft serve that is not dissimilar in taste to the yummiest gelato. Secondly, it's the real ingredients that go into every batch that make all the difference and sets Yogurtland apart from the rest. Real strawberries go into the Fresh Strawberry frozen yogurt - you can see the pips in every bite - and it's not your old table salt going into the Salted Caramel Pecan but rather the highest quality Himalayan salt that creates the perfect balance.

Yogurtland's self-serve concept makes the whole experience even sweeter. Gone are the days when a visit to the gelato counter meant the only thing you could customise was choosing between a single or double scoop and a cup or a cone.

At Yogurtland, your options are only limited by your imagination. There are 12-16 flavours in store at any one time so mixing and matching is recommended.

The topping bar is like a rainbow. Get creative with hand cut strawberries and kiwifruit, chunks of cookie dough and brownies, or a dollop of Nutella from the squeeze bottle. Self-serve means the prices are determined by weight but don't fear the scales around Yogurtland - the average cup filled generously costs around $6.
