"For example, we worked in conjunction with Redpath Mines on a multi-million dollar raise bore job at the Narrabri mine site that facilitated the increase of air needed to continue to extend the mine. The company has also partnered with other major mining companies like Ashton Coal, Ulan, Austar, Ravensworth in similar fashion to custom create airlocks, coffin seals, hatches, man access doors, bobcat doors, mesh, overcasts, stairs, ramps, ladders and more."

From aluminium to stainless steel, from modular homes to drains, GH Fabrications has a diverse range of product capability reach and is also engaged in civil construction and bespoke industrial projects.

Examples include:

  • Steel for the top floor of the Sydney City Roosters Entertainment Centre
  • Gates for Sandgate Cemetery and Blue Gum Hills park
  • Storage components for the Royal Australian Air Force
  • Civil projects for Daracon including gross pollutant traps and subdivision work at Thornton, fabrication and fit-out of upgraded waster water pumping stations at Croudace Bay and Stockton and electric gates and jetty at The Vintage Cessnock

A dedicated group of people working together as a team powers GH Fabrications' growth and development moving forward, from the engineers, to the office staff to the apprentice,.

"They are the foundation for our success," Mr Botton said.

"We have staff ranging from 34 years experience all the way to a first-year apprentice boilermaker. It's the group that brings it all together. They ensure clients end up with a good product, and quality assurance."

By employing local labour, supporting local apprenticeship programs and sourcing local steel from companies like Thornton-based Southern Steel, GH Fabrications is proudly doing it's bit to keep manufacturing alive in the Hunter.

"The Hunter has a proud tradition of manufacturing and it's the expertise of our employees that's keeping that alive, keeping the knowledge current and passing those skills and knowledge onto the next generation," Mr Botton said.
