Michael Hughes, of LJ Hooker Hamilton, marketed the property at 15/199 King Street with a guide of $250,000 and reported its sale came within two weeks of being on the market.

The Moorings was reportedly originally built in 1935 for single men working in BHP. It was north-facing and had city views.

At the other end of the market, Mr Hughes sold a renovated block of four units at 50-52 Church Street in Mayfield for $1.97 million. It had been sold in July last year for $1.25 million unrenovated and was bought this time around by an investor.

He also sold four Hamilton properties from 139 to 145 Denison Street, which comprised a total of 2023 square metres of land with an R3 residential zoning.

The large site received plenty of developer enquiry before being bought for $3.281 million by Uniting Care, who own the neighbouring property.

"We had a good amount of interest and it was a great result," Mr Hughes said.

Sales around the region in the past week include:

Cameron Park: $740,000 paid for a four-bedroom, two-bathroom residence on a 755 square metre block at 4 Graysynd Circuit.

Fishing Point: $1.15 million for a four-bedroom home on an absolute deep waterfront property around 1130 square metres in size with a jetty and boatshed at 153 Fishing Point Road.

Fern Bay: $800,000 for a four-bedroom, two-bathroom house at 54 Seaside Boulevard.
